Swansea moves out of drop zone with 1-0 win vs. West Brom
SWANSEA, Wales (AP) - Swansea climbed out of the relegation zone on Saturday as Ki Sung-yueng's first goal of the season ended its four-month run without a Premier League home win.
The South Korean's close-range strike in the ninth minute at the Liberty stadium was enough for caretaker boss Alan Curtis' team to see off West Brom 1-0 - and close the gap on Tony Pulis' struggling side to two points.
The early goal came after Wayne Routledge took Andre Ayew's lay-off to play the ball into the path of Angel Rangel. The Spanish full-back fired against the post and the ball hit the back of Boaz Myhill but the West Brom goalkeeper fumbled as he tried to gather and Ki was on hand to tap home his first goal since May.
