Basketball tournaments a chance for fans to root for favorites

The time has come.

In the midst of the holiday season, high school boys and girls are tying their laces and preparing for battle.

That's right.

It's time for the chaos that is holiday high school basketball tournaments.

It's a special time of year where players hope to get the gift of a victory or two while their coaches, cheerleaders, students and parents all get caught up in the excitement of watching the games.

On Saturday alone, more than 60 boys and girls games were scheduled for teams in the Daily Herald circulation area, with four boys tournaments and five girls tournaments underway.
