Kaye, Grant edge Rohr, Lakes at Jacobs

Junior all-tourney pick Kyle Rohr had the Lakes boys basketball fans roaring when he hit a 3-pointer at the regulation buzzer to force overtime against Grant in the Consolation B bracket game of Jacobs' Hinkle Holiday Classic on Saturday.

But the Bulldogs (6-6) responded as junior Andy Kaye scored 7 of his team-high 18 points in the extra four minutes of a 78-75 victory that gave Grant a 3-2 tourney finish.

Kaye went 5-for-6 at the free throw line in overtime and finished 10-for-12 for the game. James Mobley added 16 points, Kyle Dupree 10, Ben Kusiak and Drew Walker 9 apiece and Logan Lewis 8 for the Bulldogs.

Grant all-tourney pick John Kerr scored 6 points. Rohr finished with 22 and six 3s and Jordan Mercure added 16 points for Lakes.
