Two Round Lake Beach teens charged in BB damage spree

Two teens were arrested on various charges involving several reports of damage to homes and vehicles caused by BBs during a weeklong period, according to Round Lake Beach police.

Police announced Wednesday that Ryan R. Relucio, 18, and a 17-year-old juvenile, who was not identified, both of Round Lake Beach, were charged in connection with various offenses from Dec. 12 to Dec. 19.

During that time, vehicles and homes were damaged by what appeared to be BBs, according to police. During the spree, two people were shot by BBs, with one person being struck once and another three times, police said. Details on those reports or potential injuries was not available.

As a result, unmarked patrols were conducted and the two were seen shooting a car with a BB gun, police said. The pair fled but eventually were located. A subsequent search of their vehicle revealed many unused BBs on the floor and also a small quantity of cannabis, according to police.

Relucio, was charged with five counts of criminal damage to motor vehicle and aggravated battery and mob action. The juvenile faces 18 counts of criminal damage to a motor vehicle, two charges of criminal damage to vehicle, aggravated battery, unlawful possession of cannabis, reckless driving and mob action, according to police.
