Logansport man charged with fleeing scene of fatal crash

MONTICELLO, Ind. (AP) - Police say a Logansport man has been arrested on charges of fleeing the scene of a crash that killed two people in northwestern Indiana.

The White County Sheriff's Office says 22-year-old Austin Warren was arrested Monday on a warrant charging him with two counts of failure to remain at the scene of an accident resulting in death.

The Oct. 11 crash in rural northern White County killed 48-year-old Debrah Barkas and 13-year-old Hanna Ohrt, both of Idaville. Investigators say they believe Warren's pickup truck collided with Barkas' car.

Warren is being held at the White County Jail on $50,000 bond. It wasn't clear whether he has an attorney who might comment on his behalf.
