Expect a miracle in your life this Christmas
"I will remember your miracles!"
- Psalm 77:11 (NIV)
"Expect a miracle!" For several years, I had carried those same three words on a small card in my purse. I have been an expectant - and a receiver - of many miracles in my life.
Miracles - we delight in them. We find them intriguing, marvelous and mysterious.
Some people see the birth of baby as a miraculous sign of God's handiwork. Others see the beauty of a magnificent sunrise or the pink and blue hues of a sunset as miracles to behold.
I believe miracles come in many forms. Some are the unexplainable signs of nature that we see every day. Many are the visible answers to our prayers. Others are yet to be explained.
Miracles leave behind the fingerprints of God. They leave us feeling a sense of wonder inside knowing that without a doubt something was heaven-sent. They cause us to look at the power and presence of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit from which they come, and compel us to get better acquainted with our creator.
More than 2,000 years ago, an angle appeared to a young woman who was a virgin. When the angel informed the woman she was pregnant with child, the woman inquired, "How can it be?" She was exposed to the wonder of a miracle performed by God.
That baby in her womb turned out to be Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. God brought his miracle to earth. Believing in Jesus gives us the greatest miracle there is - a relationship with the true God, dreams and visions to pursue and everlasting life in heaven.
Miracles pave the way to our faith and our faith paves the way to miracles. The thought of miracles inspires us to believe in one for ourselves. This Christmas, I encourage you to expect a miracle in your life.
