LASC high school girls had a successful year

The LASC (Lindenhurst) high school girls teams completed a successful fall campaign in November, posting a combined 17-6-7 record in league play.

The U18 Premier Team won their division at the 24th annual Scott Gallagher College Showcase in St. Louis. The girls posted a 3-0 record, outscoring their opponents 7-1. They also took third place in the IWSL's U19 "B" North Division with a 5-2-3 record.

The team includes: Sammi Avila, Molly Bakrins, Jackie Bobadilla, Danielle Brose, Jenna Gallas, Abby Howe, Lindsey Kumpula, Grace Prendergast, Emma Sharpe, Corryn Smith, Shelbe Smoller, Emily Voigt, Amber Vondruska, Mary Wessely and Payton Whittier. They are coached by Rod Whittier.

The U16 Twisters Gold Team won the IWSL's "A" North Division by posting a 7-1-2 record. They finished among the top two teams out of 50 competing at the U16 level in the IWSL.

Monica Wilhelm posted a 0.90 goals against average while defending the net. Rachel Moore led the scoring attack with nine tallies on the season and Ayusha Ayalur added five.

Other members of the team include: Alyssa Bombicino, Skyler Forbes, Hannah Gallo, Callista Hass, Morgan Keefer, Rylie Matchett, Alondra Medina, Casey Moczynski, Karly Monaco, Rosie O'Malley, Lindsay Smith, Ava Speer, Kate Weyhrich and Maddie Wilkinson.

The U16 Twisters Blue Team competed in the IWSL's "C" North Division and finished in third place with a 5-3-2 record. Leah Meltzer was strong in goal as she spilt duties there and on defense. Maddie Fahey tallied four goals to lead her blue teammates.

Other members of the team include: Nina Amidei, Olivia Beller, Sophia Donis, Viviana Gomez, Savannah Good, Zoe Levitan, Anna Main, Cailyn Peccioli, Katie Wallach, and Annie Wiacek. Both U16 teams are coached by Sarah Figard and assisted by Francisco Medina.
