Gurnee Turkey Trot donations announced

Gurnee police have announced recipients of proceeds from this year's Jon Callaghan Memorial Turkey Trot. Officials said there were about 575 participants for the 5K run/walk fundraiser, which raised a total of $13,400 in net proceeds for four local organizations: Gurnee Community Church Youth Missions program, Gurnee Elementary District 56's special needs program, Warren Township Food Pantry and the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital. Jon Callaghan was a District 56 student who died from cancer in 1997.
