Arlington Heights police investigating six similar car burglaries

The Arlington Heights Police Department is investigating six vehicle burglaries that occurred between Dec. 4 and Dec. 9, according to a community alert issued Friday afternoon.

The burglaries occurred at either KinderCare, 110 W. Boeger Drive between 7:40 a.m. and 8:05 a.m., or XSport Fitness, 320 E. Golf Road, between 5:30 p.m. and 7:38 p.m., according to the alert.

In all six reported incidents, the unknown offender shattered the passenger side windows of the vehicles and removed either a personal storage bag or women's purse. The focus of each burglary is personal identification including, but not limited to Illinois driver's licenses, Social Security cards and other personal identification or credit cards.

Nearby communities - including Buffalo Grove, Hoffman Estates, Mount Prospect, Northbrook, Palatine and Wheeling - all have experienced similar burglaries, police said.
