Zacharias Center honored

Libertyville Elementary District 70 recently honored Kyle A. Malcolm of Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center in Gurnee with its 2015 Character & Leadership Award, the district's only award given to an outside organization. The award recognizes exemplary character, leadership and service. The 32-year-old center works to end sexual assault and abuse through counseling, educational programs and training. For the last two years and at no charge, Malcolm has provided educational programming to all of kindergartners, second- and fourth-graders to help with Erin's Law, which requires public schools to implement a prevention-oriented program dealing with sexual abuse.
