Teen fatally shot on Rockford's far west side
ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - A 17-year-old boy has been fatally shot on the far west side of Rockford.
Officers were called at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and found the teen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on a residential driveway. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The teen's identity hasn't been released pending notification of family members.
A man was questioned after the shooting, but police say they haven't identified any witnesses or suspects.
The Rockford Register Star (http://bit.ly/1QOy5xJ ) reports that the teen's slaying is the city's third shooting death in less than two weeks and its 19th homicide this year. The city recorded 17 homicides in 2014.
