Pizza delivery man shot with pellet gun in Batavia robbery

A pizza delivery man was shot with a pellet gun during a robbery Wednesday night in Batavia, police said.

The 51-year-old victim was robbed around 10:20 p.m. in the 300 block of Woodland Hills Road. He told police he was grabbed from behind while delivering a pizza to a house. During a struggle, he was shot in the head.

He was treated at a hospital for an injury to his scalp, as well as other scrapes and bruises.

Police said they are looking for a black man, 6 feet 3 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing dark clothing and a ski cap.

The suspect left in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, possibly an older Jeep Cherokee, which drove south on Woodland Hills.
