Celebrate Christmas at Illinois Brass Band concert

Celebrate Christmas with music director Stephen Squires and the Illinois Brass Band as they present "Holiday Classics" at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Ave., St. Charles.

The program will feature glorious music of the season. The sanctuary will come alive as 30 of the area's finest brass players fill the air with the sounds of this "Most Wonderful Time of the Year." With a cheerful mix of traditional carols, holiday classics, and jazzy updates of Christmas favorites, it will be an evening that will put the entire family in the holiday spirit. The program will feature major works for brass band by composer and arranger Andrew Wainwright as well as the premier performance of the brass band setting of the exciting "Festival Fanfare for Christmas" by composer John Wasson.

The Illinois Brass Band is a six-time national champion of the North American Brass Band Association. The band is in its 24th year.

Tickets are available in advance at illinoisbrassband.org or at the door on the day of the performance. Tickets are $12; $6 for children and students age 18 and younger; and $30 for family of two adults and up to four, age 18 and younger.
