Don't be defined by rhetoric of the past

In oral arguments before the Supreme Court this week, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia remarked if minority students with inferior academic credentials may be better off at "a less advanced school, a slower track school where they do well."

Is there a difference between the two? Are we willing to turn back time and regress to a country where race or religion defines a person's potential or character?

Is it time to search our souls and really ask if we want this type of rhetoric to shape who we are as a country?
