East Dundee carriage rides continue Saturdays through Dec. 26

Horse-drawn carriage rides will be offered from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 19 and 26, starting at the Depot, 319 N. River St. in East Dundee.

"We're offering folks a chance to step back and slow down as they enjoy our downtown business area at a slower pace," said Village President Lael Miller. "They can grab a bite to eat at any of our area restaurants or pubs and then take a leisurely ride around the neighborhood. We think they'll be impressed by the many changes that have been made to the area during this past year."

The carriage accommodates 4-6 passengers for a 10- to 15-minute ride. Tickets are $5 for age 13 and older or free for youth, age 12 and younger. There is a limit of four children per one adult. Rides are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

The village of East Dundee is home to 3,000 residents. Its downtown plan is to create a "culinary" district consisting of the right mix of restaurants, retail, and community events to serve as a destination attraction for both residents and regional visitors. For more information on the plan, visit the economic development section on the village website at www.eastdundee.net.
