One in custody in Rolling Meadows shooting

A woman who was shot during an exchange of gunfire in Rolling Meadows early Sunday morning has been released from the hospital.

Police are still investigating the suspected gang-related shooting that occurred when people in two moving cars fired at one another along Golf Road, just west of Interstate 90, about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

The woman, a passenger in one of the vehicles, was shot in the leg and was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. She has since been released, Rolling Meadows Police Chief Dave Scanlan said.

Scanlan said a person firing a weapon from the same car the woman was in is now in custody and likely will be charged Tuesday morning.

Police are still looking for people from the other vehicle.

"We're still working it," Scanlan said.
