In wake of Hamilton resignation, COD holding two forums today
Amid the surprise of Chairwoman Kathy Hamilton's abrupt resignation from the College of DuPage board, the college is scheduled to hold two forums today to collect input for the search for its next president.
One component of the meeting - put in place before Hamilton's bombshell announcement Sunday night, was the invitation extended to Glen Ellyn village officials to the meetings, with Deanne Mazzochi, vice chairwoman of the college board, saying the board wants to "start working with Glen Ellyn in a more cooperative and collaborative way."
"We think it's essential given our home in Glen Ellyn that we have a lot of input from Glen Ellyn," Mazzochi told the village board last week.
The village and the college reached an agreement in 2012 that ended a legal dispute and transferred oversight of the campus to DuPage County.
The forums will be held at 4 and 7 p.m. in the Student Services Center, Room 2206, at the college, 425 Fawell Blvd.
