Chicago's Shedd Aquarium asks for help naming dolphin calf

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago's Shedd Aquarium is looking for help naming its youngest dolphin.

The public can vote online for their favorite name between now and Dec. 16.

Voters can choose between two possible names: Kolohe (Ko-LOW-hey), which means "rascal" in Hawaiian, or Makoa (Ma-KO-ah), which means "fearless."

The Pacific white-sided dolphin Piquet (pee-KEHT) gave birth to the calf in June. The aquarium says the calf weighed about 28 pounds and was approximately 3 feet long when he was born.

He's now about 5 feet long and weighs about 108 pounds. He's eating fish in addition to nursing.
