Thank you, senators, for 'no fly' votes

I want to commend Sens.Dick Durbin and Mark Kirk for voting for reasonable gun legislation which would have prevented those on the "No Fly" list from purchasing guns.

Kirk was the only Republican senator who crossed party lines.

The legislation did not pass. Another bill that would have expanded background checks to gun shows and online firearms sales to screen out convicted felons and the mentally ill also failed.

Members of Congress should be ashamed of themselves.

We need to do more to combat the epidemic of deaths caused by guns in this country.
