Barrington teen once dangerously ill, now to get VIP treatment at Bears game

Matthew Haller, a 17-year-old junior on the Barrington High School football team, will get the full VIP treatment at the Chicago Bears game Sunday.

Haller suffered a collapsed lung, seemingly out of the blue, and had to have it surgically reinflated. Things got worse when his doctors discovered he had dangerously elevated enzyme levels - and while recovering at Advocate Children's Hospital he further developed meningitis and encephalitis.

Still, the teen remained upbeat, positive and a big fan of football. Now out of the hospital, Matthew was recently approved to go back to the gym, and he and his doctors hope he has a big 2016 season.
