Buffett discloses 8 pct stake in Seritage real estate trust

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Billionaire Warren Buffett says he owns 8 percent of Seritage, the real estate investment trust Sears created.

Buffett said Thursday in documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission that he owns 2 million shares of Seritage.

Seritage shares jumped $5.65, or 16 percent, to $40.88 after the investment was disclosed Thursday. That made Buffett's stake worth nearly $82 million.

The documents state that Buffett, not the Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate he leads, owns the Seritage shares.
