Volunteers, donations needed for annual Community Holiday Toy Giveaway

It is time to help make the holidays a happy time

for thousands of children in need from Elgin and South Elgin. Support the Elgin Community Holiday Toy Giveaway. It will be held 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way in Elgin.

They are seeking local support for this event.

You can become a sponsor of this event with: a $250 tax deductible donation (to be used for the purchase of toys); or a donation of 25 new toys (equivalent of $250).

Make all checks payable to Community Crisis Center (designate Toy Giveaway) and send to P.O. Box 1390, Elgin, IL 60121-1390.

During the past two decades, this community-sponsored event has given thousands of toys to Elgin area children. Last year, with your help, they collected new toys and monies allowing them to distribute approximately 6,000 toys to 2,217 children from 826 needy families. They anticipate an increase in numbers this year.

Share your joy this holiday season by remembering children of less fortunate families.

Donations and volunteers are invaluable to the Elgin Community Holiday Toy Giveaway.
