Palatine Park District to stage live radio play
"It's A Wonderful Life" returns to the Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center, this time as a live radio play performance, at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11. Caroling begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the play.
Admission is free, but tickets are required and can be reserved online through the box office at www.cuttinghall.org.
A cast of 19 actors will portray 43 separate characters in this live performance presented in the style of a radio play, complete with commercials. The cast includes: John Maxwell, Marcy Angsurat, Margaret Jackson, Jackson Kist, Marc Ross, Glen Murschel, Eileen Mitchell, TR Frye, Shenandoah Kist, Judith Ross, Rahul Durai, Kayla Murschel, Divya Durai, Jim Sullivan, John Dieden, Anne Arza, Malathi Raghavan, Denise Peters, and Lekha Durai.
The play director is Julie Price; Tamara Kist is the commercial breaks director. The lead foley artist, also responsible for digital sound effects, is Tony Kola, with Beverly Kola and Julie Comito serving as foley artist assistants.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. Dec. 11 for open seating, concession sales and raffle ticket sales. Raffle proceeds will benefit the Susannah's Gift Scholarship Fund, which was established in memory of Susannah Kist, a longtime Palatine Park District theater and music teacher, who lost her battle with cancer in 2009.
The scholarship fund assists residents with financial need who would like to participate in park district cultural arts activities.
