Cooper's ego 'not hurt' by Sox' Johnson seeing his own pitching coach

NASHVILLE - Chicago White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper says he wasn't offended that right-hander Erik Johnson went to a personal pitching coach to change his mechanics, which, Johnson says, got him back on a successful path.

Cooper also accepted blame for Jeff Samardzija's rough year, so he essentially stood up before the media at the Winter Meetings and addressed two developments which didn't exactly cast him in the most favorable light.

"I'm comfortable in my own skin," said Cooper, who lives in Nashville but had never attended the meetings even though they have been here before.
