Crews in Vincennes cleaning up old movie theater for sale

VINCENNES, Ind. (AP) - Crews in southwestern Indiana are cleaning up a majestic old movie theater in hopes of finding a new buyer for the Art Deco-style building.

Work began last week to clear the former New Moon Theater in Vincennes of items the building's various owners have left behind over the years.

The theater built in 1939 is owned by INVin, a Vincennes group that works to bring new businesses to downtown Vincennes' Main Street.

INVin Executive Director Ellen Harper tells the Vincennes Sun-Commercial (http://bit.ly/1TwDZTi ) that talks are under way with the owner of a pizzeria and microbrewery in the nearby city of Washington who's interested in the space.

Harper says her group's "hope and dream" would be for the old theater to be converted into a restaurant or a brew pub.
