Barrington-area leaders honor longtime Citizens for Conservation director
The Barrington Area Council of Governments passed a resolution recently honoring Sam Oliver, the outgoing director of Citizens for Conservation.
BACOG Chairman Martin McLaughlin commended Oliver for her service to the region and contributions supporting BACOG's Comprehensive Plan in her 31 years at CFC. Oliver's work at CFC included enhancing the area's natural environment, water resources and ecosystems, as well as maintaining the beauty of the area and the quality of life for residents of the region.
BACOG's Executive Board recognized Oliver for her long-standing partnership with the organization and support to its projects focused on environmental protection.
Oliver noted the shared beginnings of the two organizations, BACOG and CFC, which were created in 1970-71 for the purposes of intergovernmental cooperation and environmental preservation in the greater Barrington area.
