Hoffman Estates Redhawks advance to semis in Pop Warner championships

The Peewee Hoffman Estates Redhawks football team are one step closer to winning their second consecutive national title after a decisive win in the first round of the Pop Warner championships in Florida Saturday.

The Redhawks trounced the Gilbert-Chandler Bruisers, a squad from Arizona, 24-8. With a perfect record during the regular season, the reigning champs - run by an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization - marches onto the semifinals in the Division II series, facing the Parkland Rangers of Florida Tuesday, Dec. 8.
