Fanter becomes Crystal Lake South's all-time leader

Crystal Lake South senior Chanel Fanter became the Gators' all-time leading girls basketball scorer Friday night when she scored 14 points in her team's 56-38 Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win over Cary-Grove.

Fanter now has 1,221 career points, breaking the record of 1, 217 held by 1982 graduate Meg Gaede.

Taylor Josefowicz led CL South in scoring Friday with 15 points and Annika Sevcik added 13 for the Gators (5-3, 2-0).

Jen Pilut had 7 points for Cary-Grove (1-7, 0-2).

Huntley 52, Jacobs 33: Ali Andrews scored 20 points, Kayla Barreto had 12 and Paige Renkosik added 10 to lead the Red Raiders (7-0, 2-0) to a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win. Andrews now has 1,958 career points. Talia Surges had 14 points to lead Jacobs (3-4, 1-1).

Geneva 77, Streamwood 29: In the Upstate Eight River, Margaret Whitley scored 21 points, Madeline Yette had 9 and Grace Loberg added 8 to lead Geneva (5-1, 1-0). Jeneijha Williams led Streamwood (0-7, 0-1) with 14 points.
