Streamwood upsets Geneva on Jenkins' 3-pointer
Jaleel Jenkins hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer as the Streamwood boys basketball team upset previously unbeaten Geneva 50-47 in the Upstate Eight River opener for both teams Friday night in Streamwood.
Jenkins led the Sabres (1-4, 1-0) with 16 points, while Joey O'Halloran and Phil Cruz scored 10 each and Jake McGlone and George Contreras added 6 apiece.
Bennett Fuzak had 22 points and Cole Navigato added 8 for Geneva (4-1, 0-1).
St. Ignatius 57, Marmion 45: Michael Seraphin and Michael Sullivan scored 12 points each for Marmion (3-3, 0-1) in its Chicago Catholic League loss.
