Authorities: 1 woman dead in southwestern Indiana fire
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a 52-year-old woman is dead after an apartment fire in southwestern Indiana.
WFIE-TV in Evansville reports (http://bit.ly/1O6vY3A) the Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office has confirmed Evelyn Christine Mitchell died in the fire. Her husband was being treated at a hospital's intensive care unit for burns.
The station reports that the fire broke out around 11 a.m. on Thursday. Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze.
