Marian Central edges Libertyville

Libertyville sophomore Drew Peterson scored a game-high 21 points, but the Wildcats' boys basketball team couldn't quite catch up to visiting Marian Central Catholic on Thursday in a 62-59 loss in nonconference play.

The Wildcats led 27-24 at the half before being outscored 19-10 in the third quarter. Marian Central made 5 of 6 free throws in the fourth quarter and finished 19-for-25 at the foul line in the game.

Paul Steinhaus had 11 points for Libertyville and Jabari Quigley scored 10. Both made one 3-pointer.
