Round Lake rolls to first victory

Miyah Johnson poured in 17 points, and Round Lake's girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season, 48-10 over visiting CICS/Northtown Academy in nonconference action Wednesday night.

Johnson sank four 3-pointers, all in the first three quarters. Round Lake (1-5) led 10-0 after one quarter, 25-2 at halftime and 40-6 after three.

Ten players scored for the Panthers, who also received 6 points from Tatyana Steadman.

Hampshire 46, Grayslake North 40: Senior guard Nikki Dumoulin scored 11 points in the fourth quarter to help the visiting Whip-Purs hold off the Knights in Fox Valley Fox Division play.

Dumoulin made 7 of her 8 foul shots in the fourth quarter for Hampshire (5-2, 1-0), which held a 3-point lead entering the period.

Sidney Lovitsch led Grayslake North (4-2, 0-1) with 14 points and Brandi Thibeaux scored 13.
