Aurora rapist gets 6 years for failing to report new address

AURORA, Ill. (AP) - A convicted sex offender from Aurora has been sentenced to six years in prison for repeatedly failing to notify authorities of a new address.

Court records show 47-year-old Danny L. Bergloff pleaded guilty last month to violating the state's sex offender registration law when he failed to report his new address within three days after moving.

Bergloff was sentenced to six years in prison after he pleaded guilty to raping a woman at his Montgomery apartment in June 1994. The Daily Herald (http://bit.ly/1QaRk4l ) reports that he was sentenced to additional prison time for failing to check in after changing addresses in 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2012.

He also was sentenced to six years in prison in 2006 for failing to report a change of address to Aurora police.
