McHenry-based four-piece acoustic Miles Over Mountains has only been playing together for two years, but the bandmates are well on their way to making a name for themselves. Cosley's Festival of Lights

See thousands of twinkling lights, visit with the animals and purchase holiday trees and other greenery at Cosley Zoo's 32nd Annual Festival of Lights at 1356 N. Gary Ave., Wheaton. Locally copacetic

Local H, one of the Chicago area's best-loved purveyors of alternative rock, has been entertaining fans across the country for 25 years. Starting as a four-piece and meandering through different iterations, the Zion-based band found itself and its solid sound in the mid-'90s, getting a little radio play with "Mayonnaise and Malaise" and really busting into the national consciousness with "Bound for the Floor."
