Black Friday deals also on new school clothes

Andy Gomez of Gurnee said his Black Friday trip to Gurnee Mills wasn't primarily to purchase gifts for the holidays.

Instead, he said, he was taking advantage of deals to buy new school clothes for his son, who recently transferred to a new school in Gurnee.

"He wore a uniform at his other school," Gomez said. "So, we are loading up on new school clothes for him."

Express had clothing going for 50 percent off, which saved him a lot of cash, Gomez said.

Gomez said he also took time Friday to purchase some tools at Bass Pro Shop for his semi-truck, and an item for his wife.

"That's not for (his son)," Gomez said, pointing at a Victoria's Secret bag at the top of his cart, then pointing to his wife, Mara, next to him. "That's for her."
