Stuttgart fires coach Zorniger, names Kramny as successor
STUTTGART, Germany (AP) - Stuttgart has fired Alexander Zorniger 13 matches into the season and named under-23 coach Juergen Kramny as his successor.
Zorniger's departure comes three days after Stuttgart's 4-0 home loss to Augsburg, which was then bottom of the standings. Stuttgart has three wins from 13 matches and is back in the danger zone in 16th place, two from the bottom.
Stuttgart's next match is on Sunday at Borussia Dortmund.
Stuttgart narrowly avoided relegation when Huub Stevens was brought in in November 2014. Stevens' contract was not extended and he is now in charge of Hoffenheim.
