WVU to open 2016 Big 12 schedule against Kansas State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia will open the 2016 Big 12 football schedule at home against Kansas State on Oct. 1.
The Big 12 released the league portion of the schedule Tuesday.
The Mountaineers will alternate home and away games in conference play. Other home opponents are TCU on Oct. 22, Kansas on Nov. 5, Oklahoma on Nov. 19 and Baylor on Dec. 3.
Conference road opponents include Texas Tech on Oct. 15, Oklahoma State on Oct. 29, Texas on Nov. 12 and Iowa State on Nov. 26.
WVU also has home nonconference games against Missouri on Sept. 3 and FCS Youngstown State on Sept. 10. West Virginia will meet BYU in Landover, Maryland, on Sept. 24.
WVU will have bye weekends on Sept. 17 and Oct. 8.
