Man pleads not guilty in Kenosha County slaying

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) - A Kenosha County homicide suspect who eluded capture for nearly two weeks has pleaded not guilty to the 32 charges he faces in connection with the case.

Thirty-six-year-old Andrew Obregon of Bristol pleaded not guilty Friday morning to the charges, including fleeing an officer, obstructing an officer and criminal damage to property. He also waived his right to a preliminary hearing, and a pretrial conference was scheduled for Jan. 21.

Obregon is accused of killing 37-year-old Tywon Anderson of Kenosha Sept. 19, and then going on the run, hiding from police and fleeing whenever law enforcement caught up with him. He was eventually caught Oct. 13, after driving a stolen vehicle into Illinois.

He was extradited from Illinois to Wisconsin earlier this month.

Court records don't indicate an attorney for Obregon.
