Cass County man dies in Carroll County excavating accident
RADNOR, Ind. (AP) - A 29-year-old Cass County man has died after a work-related excavating accident in Carroll County.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Department says the accident happened Thursday while Jerrid Jackson of Young America was installing drainage tile in a field just east of Radnor. WLFI-TV (http://bit.ly/1ly2jtn ) reports that Jackson and a 28-year-old Galveston man were in a hole about eight feet deep when a side of the hole gave way, pinning both men.
Other employees of Miller Excavating/Drainage Contractors were able to get the Galveston man out with just a broken arm, but Jackson was unresponsive when they pulled him from the hole.
Attempts to resuscitate Jackson were unsuccessful.
