PHOENIX (AP) - Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose has been ruled out against the Phoenix Suns with a sore left ankle.
Rose tested his ankle with balance work before Wednesday night's game, but coach Fred Hoiberg decided to hold him out. The 2011 NBA MVP was injured late in Monday's win over Indiana, when he scored 23 points in a 96-95 victory.
Kirk Hinrich was set to start in Rose's place at point guard against Phoenix.
"Still day to day," Hoiberg said. "I would doubt he will do a lot tomorrow at practice, but hopefully we'll get it moving, get him cutting, see if that thing feels any better."
For the Suns, starting forward Markieff Morris was available to play after missing the previous two games with a sprained left knee. Morris was averaging 13 points and five rebounds per game.
