Glee club to perform two holiday concerts

The sounds of the season will come alive at "Christmas Presence," two holiday concerts by The Naperville Men's Glee Club and its special guests.

The "Christmas Presence Advent Concert" offers a program of expressive, thoughtful music about the anticipation and joy of Christmas. In addition to the Glee Club, this year's concert features soprano Mary Elliott and vocalists from St. Margaret Mary Parish in Naperville.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at St. Margaret Mary Parish, 1450 Green Trails Drive, Naperville.

Fun for the entire family, "Christmas Presence Young at Heart" is a one-hour concert that celebrates the joys of the holiday season through music for all ages. The program includes traditional carols sung by the Glee Club and Elliott, plus a golden anniversary performance of the Christmas novelty song "Fruitcake."

Children in the audience are invited to the stage to accompany the Glee Club using handheld percussion instruments.

The concert begins at 3 p. m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at Knox Presbyterian Church, 1105 Catalpa Lane, Naperville.

Tickets are available from Glee Club members, online at napervillemensgleeclub.org or by calling (630) 448-0518. Tickets also will be available at the door prior to the concert (cash or check only).
