Villanova clips Richmond, 21-20

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Zack Bednarczyk threw two touchdown passes, including the game winning 12-yard strike to Kevin Gulyas with 41 seconds left, and Villanova beat Richmond 21-20 on Saturday.

Bednarczyk's scoring pass came on fourth-and-7, and capped an 11-play, 78-yard drive. Richmond had taken a 20-14 lead on the preceding possession when Jacobi Green found the end zone on a 7-yard run with 5:06 remaining. But Peter Yoder's extra point attempt was blocked, giving the Wildcats an opportunity to win the game on the ensuing drive.

Gulyas caught eight passes for 122 yards and both Bednarczyk's touchdown passes for Villanova (6-4, 5-2 Colonial Athletic Association).

The game was tied 7-7 at the half, and 14-14 after three quarters.

Green ran for 135 yards and two scores to lead Richmond (7-3, 5-2). The Spiders outgained Villanova 441-296, but committed three turnovers.
