Mazza's 3 TDs help Stetson top Ave Maria 60-21

DELAND, Fla. (AP) - Cole Mazza rushed for 73 yards and three touchdowns, and Stetson ran for 353 yards en route to a 60-21 win over Ave Maria on Saturday.

After Mazza's 5-yard plunge opened the scoring, Eric Martin intercepted Austin Hunt and returned it 30 yards for a score to make it 13-0. Stetson opened the game with 23 straight points before Hunt found Nick Mendelsberg for 10 yards. Mazza scored from 16 yards out to give the Hatters a 30-7 halftime lead.

Mazza's other rushing score went for 12 yards for Stetson (3-7). Ryan Tentler finished 9 of 11 for 138 yards and a touchdown pass to Chris Crawford of 27 yards.

Hunt passed for 92 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions for Ave Maria (4-7), which plays at the NAIA Division II level. He also ran for 57 yards and a TD. Kaleb Coffee had 70 yards rushing, including a 59-yard score.
