Biello given Impact job to keep, interim title removed
MONTREAL (AP) - The interim tag is coming off Montreal Impact coach Mauro Biello's title.
Biello took over on an interim basis Aug. 30 after Frank Klopas was fired. He led the Impact to a 7-2-2 record and a third-place finish in the Eastern Conference. Montreal lost to Columbus on 4-3 aggregate in the conference semifinals of the playoffs.
Team president Joey Saputo announced the appointment Friday and said Biello also is gaining the title of director of player personnel.
