Missing Des Plaines man located safe and sound

A 78-year-old Des Plaines man who went missing last week after leaving his retirement home and withdrawing money from the bank has been located.

Roger D. Albanese was found safe and sound, Des Plaines police announced this morning. There were no additional details released about where he was located or the circumstances of his disappearance.

Albanese was last seen by staff at Asbury Court Retirement Home, 1750 S. Elmhurst Road, last Tuesday afternoon. Video surveillance at a local bank showed him making a withdrawal about 5 p.m. that day. A family member reported him missing Saturday.

Police considered Albanese endangered because he uses a walker to get around and did not have his medications with him.
