Des Plaines 1st ward meeting on smart meters, other topics, scheduled Thursday
Des Plaines Alderman Patti Haugeberg's 1st Ward meeting Thursday will feature presentations from the city's finance director, police and fire chiefs, and representatives of ComEd, who will be discussing smart meters.
Finance Director Dorothy Wisniewski will discuss the city budget, while Police Chief Bill Kushner will present the police department's K-9 Bane and his handler Steve Dickson. Fire Chief Alan Wax will talk about free CPR classes the fire department is offering to residents.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers of city hall, 1420 Miner St.
