Deadline extended for parade entries for Electric Christmas Parade
The deadline for entry in the St. Charles Electric Christmas Parade has been extended through Wednesday, Nov. 11. The Downtown St. Charles Partnership, which organizes the event, has continued to receive inquiries about entries, and have decided to extend the deadline for everyone. Executive Director Lynne Schwartz says, "We are happy that there continues to be interest in parade participation, and would like to extend the deadline so everyone receives the same information and opportunity."
Entries will be accepted through Wednesday, Nov. 11.
The parade steps off on Main Street at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28. Businesses and organizations with interest in being a part of this event are should return completed forms to the Downtown St. Charles Partnership office in the St. Charles Municipal Building no later than Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Businesses, nonprofits, and organizations that would like to enter the parade may do so by completing and returning the parade entry form, safety guidelines, and a certificate of insurance. The application fee is $250 for businesses, $125 for Downtown St. Charles Partnership member businesses, and complimentary to local nonprofits. Holiday Homecoming is a two-day event, featuring "Lighting of the Lights" at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, on First Street Plaza. Sleigh Rides on 1st Street, visits with Santa, a holiday movie, and the Electric Christmas Parade take place
On Saturday, Nov. 28, enjoy "Elf," a free holiday movie, at 10 a.m. at the Arcada Theatre, with free horse-drawn sleigh rides from 1 to 3:30 p.m., visits with Santa on the 1st Street Plaza from 1 to 4 p.m. and the Electric Christmas Parade on Main Street at 5:30 p.m.
Santa's House will open 1 to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, Nov. 28-Dec. 20.
All Holiday Homecoming events and activities are free.
