Miami says ACC acknowledged other blown calls at Duke
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Miami says it has been told by the Atlantic Coast Conference that "multiple incorrect calls" went against the Hurricanes in last weekend's win over Duke, including a late pass interference call on the drive where the Blue Devils scored a go-ahead touchdown.
The Hurricanes sent those sentiments to season-ticket holders and donors in a letter on Thursday.
Miami won the game 30-27 after an eight-lateral kickoff return was ultimately ran into the end zone by Corn Elder. The ACC said that play should have been over long before Elder scored because a Miami player's knee was down on one of the laterals, and the officiating crew was suspended for two games because of errors found on that play.
The ACC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
