Fall back into genealogy research at St. Charles library

Family Tree Maker is one of the most popular genealogy software programs. At 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, genealogist Jane Haldeman will demonstrate how to use the latest version and discuss some of the new features such as Workspaces, detailed source citations and direct inclusion of online information in Using Family Tree Maker. This program at St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave, is for the beginner or the advanced genealogist. Registration for workshops is recommended.

The library's genealogy collection, located in the Carnegie Business Room, features local resources including: Kane County microfilm, marriage record indices, cemetery guides and select local newspapers on microfilm. There are also items available for checkout, including software programs as well as research guides for both the beginning and advanced researcher.
