2 arrested in connection with Indiana officer's shooting
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indianapolis police say they've arrested two men in connection with a shooting that slightly injured a city police officer.
Police said Tuesday that 27-year-old Jeff Bingham and 28-year-old Luis Olvera face preliminary felony charges of criminal recklessness and possession of a firearm and a misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement.
Police say the officer heard several gunshots late Monday and found two male suspects in an alley. A short foot chase followed during which police say the officer was shot in the wrist. He was taken to a hospital with a minor wrist wound.
The department says the officer didn't shoot back at the suspects.
It wasn't clear whether Bingham and Olvera have attorneys who might comment on the case.
